Lyrical Triptych

 Lyrical Triptych Reflection

The project that was given was named Lyrical Triptych such as lyrics and pictures combined.  Consisting three related panels to a song that we liked or represented us. As a class we had to choose a song that we liked or had several meanings to help us find pictures that had the same meaning as the song. Then we printed out the lyrics and searched for pictures that went with the songs. The criteria that was assigned was to work in Adobe photo shop with 3 slides the size of 5X7”.

For my project I chose to do a marriage, romance type of collage because it seemed easier for me. The name of the song was Romeo & Juliet by Taylor swift she basically is explaining how she loves Romeo and she wants him to take her somewhere. But Juliet’s Dad doesn’t want her around him Romeo, so in the ending he ends up getting married and her dad accepts him. My finished work shows three panels, one with Juliet over a balcony. Another panel shows Romeo on his knees proposing to Juliet and the last one shows how he told her pick out a white dress. I used many tools such as the transform tool to rotate and flip my photo. I also used the color adjustment, magnetic lasso, shadow around my text and many more. To use the filter tool I went to filters and clicked on the one that I wanted. Then to adjust my photo I selected the correct layer and clicked images then adjustments.

First in order for me to choose the images that I wanted I had to pick a song. I chose one that I did like and one that would be easier for me, with a lot of details. I went to Getty images and chose images that went with my lyrics. The creation that I made with moods towards my work was images of the sky and grass.

My experience with adobe photo shop is getting better the more experience the better. I like adobe Photoshop but at first I didn’t because I didn’t know how to work it. But now I guess it is ok and would work for me with my projects in the near future. I was successful in this project but it could have been a little better with the details. Next time if I have a project like this I am going to choose my lyrics differently and photos.
